Carbon dioxide is stripped from water by air in a wetted-wall tube. At a certain location, where the pressure is 10 atM and the temperature is 25oC, the mass-transfer flux of CO2 is 1.62 Ibmouh-ft2. The partial pressures of CO2 are 8.2 atm at the interface and 0.1 atrn in the bulk gas. The diffusivity of CO2 in air at these conditions is 1.6 x 10-2 cm2/s. Assuming turbulent flow of the gas, calculate by the film theory, the mass-transfer coefficient k, for the gas phase and the film thickness.
