Gardner's Multiple Intelligences (MI) theory broadens the traditional definitions of intelligence. Go to personalitymax complete the short quiz (be careful not to click on the link to the prominent advertisement at the beginning of the quiz). It asks for your name to get results, but you can make something up. It does not ask for an email address or other identifying information. Scroll down past the junk to see the results. Alternately, another quiz includes a 9th type of intelligence which Gardner speculates may be valuable, but is not in his original eight. After taking one or both of the quizzes, discuss your results and how they might impact your learning preferences or teaching style. Consider how you can use information about MI and other theories of intelligence (e.g. Sternberg's Triarchic Theory, Emotional Intelligence, Cultural Intelligence, etc.) to meet the learning needs of students.
