RE: Your Strategic Plan that you developed, what gaps do you have in the alignment, implementation of your strategy for the organization?

Within a strategic plan you have the:

  1. Mission & Vision
  2. Objectives
  3. Situational Analysis
  4. Strategy Formulation

This is the beginning of the Implementation phase & assessment; where leaders lead and take action to apply their strategic plan for their organization:

5. Implementation process - This is where the leaders lead the effort, applying their skills and talents to ensure what they planned will be incorporated within the firm

6. Control: Assessment and evaluation of how the organization is performing after the leaders implemented their plans.

Employee motivation and Upper Management:

Whenever I initiated specific implementation within an organization, I always did my best to ensure my employees agreed with and sought the same things I was implementing for the organization. The executives of the firm must agree with your implementation plan and the length it is going to take. Normally, implementation can take up to a year to fully implement, some technical applications will take longer in duration. You must have your employees motivated and upper management agree to your plan.

Assessing and evaluating your plan through implementation:

The control aspect is to assess and evaluate your firms overall success based on your implementation of your plan. How are your new processes actually performing?, what core competencies have been created? What is your Return in Investment or Return on equity? Has your firm gained market share or long term value.

These gaps must be answered and if the plan is not working, you as the leader, must make the appropriate changes.
