Delinquency often leads to membership in gangs. Determining successful techniques in treating problem of delinquent gangs can be as difficult as defining them. Social Workers have been somewhat successful in assisting with the rehabilitation of adolescents involved in gang activity, but they are limited based on the client's desire to change as well as engaging the support from their community. Without support from the family and community (which Social Workers try to incorporate) the adolescent is forced back into the same cycle of gang life, unless they are removed from that environment altogether.

What is your opinion on this issue?
