Assessment Task
The Sharia Index closed down 0.01 per cent at 536.46 points. Renaissance Service, up 3.62 per cent, was the top gainer while Al Suwadi Power, down 5.13 percent, was the top loser. National Bank of Oman was the most active in terms of number of shares traded while Sahara Hospitality was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 284 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating turnover of OMR2.14 million with more than 10.28 million shares changing hands. Out of 39 traded stocks, 4 advanced, 13 declined and 22 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC & Arab investors were net sellers for OMR446,000 while domestic investors were net buyers for OMR402,000 followed by foreign investors for OMR44,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 6,487.58 points, down 0.46 per cent. Alizz Islamic Bank and Al Madina Takaful were up by 1.43 per cent and 1.25 percent respectively. Bank Dhofar, HSBC Oman, Al Omaniya Service and Bank Muscat were down 2.92 per cent, 2.38 per cent, 1.08 per cent and 0.45 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 4,315.31 points, down 0.12 per cent. There were no gainers from the Industrial sector. Oman Fisheries and Oman Cement were down by 1.28 percent and 0.45 per cent.
Services index closed down 0.47 per cent at 1,956.01 points. Renaissance Service and OIFC were up
3.62 per cent and 2.63 per cent respectively. Al Suwadi Power, National Gas, United Power, Oman National Engin. Invt and Omantel were down 5.13 per cent, 4.39 percent, 4.00 per cent, 3.57 percent and 2.78 percent respectively.
