Poster Presentation - Assignment Brief

For this assignment you must choose an article, containing data and analysis of data, from a recent (last 12 months) volume of a research journal in your field of study.

You must design and produce a poster, using PowerPoint (or other appropriate software), based on the research presented in this article. The poster must contain the following:

• Introduction (which probably contains the literature review), materials and methods, results/discussion, conclusions, and references cited (only a small number of references, typically 1-4, should be cited on a poster).

The poster must be submittedelectronically using Turnitin.
Insert Poster By: your student number, at the bottom right corner of the poster.

Pointers

• Be sure your images are informative and clear.
• Re-read your work after printing and before submission.
o Check the presentation - does it look how you intended?
o Check for spelling and grammatical errors.
• Choose your colour scheme with care to ensure adequate contrast and compatibility.
• Use a standard font and template for your work.
• You should use your own words - not cut and paste text from the paper.
• Reference your sources properly.

Presentation Instructions

It is your responsibility to ensure that your work is neatly and accurately presented.

Graphics
• Graphics are the major component of the poster.
• They should capture the reader's attention

Effective graphics are:
• Simple
• Self-explanatory

Referencing

All academic writing must be referenced. If you use other people's ideas without referencing them you are plagiarising their work. This does not apply to common knowledge.

Use the Numeric System of referencing within your text. At every point in the text where a reference is made, insert a number (in brackets or superscript) and then list the references numerically at the end of your work.
