What do you think is the future of sport facilities such as Gil's Sportsplex?

1. What factors come into play when making your decision?
2. If you were Gil's advisor before he started this venture, how would you advise him and what proof would you give to support your opinion? One item to keep in mind is the fact that softball has been decreasing in popularity over the past 20 years.
3. If you were Gil, what managerial challenges do you foresee in running the facility, and how would you address those concerns?

7. Gil is unsure if he would be a good leader, manager, or owner. He wears a number of hats but does not really know if he has what it takes. Yes, he has hired a manager, but he is the face of the facility and employees will look up to him. How can he assess whether he will be good in his multiple roles?

Gil needs to hire two or three part-time workers to help during events and to work the concession stand. The duties they will be responsible for handling include the following: preparing the field, checking equipment, registering participants, scheduling officials, cleaning cooking equipment, ordering supplies, cleaning restrooms and other parts of the administrative building, selling concessions, cleaning around the picnic area, and maintaining the general cleanliness and appearance of the facility.

10. Try to highlight all the legal concerns you think might exist when interviewing and hiring these workers. How would you handle these legal concerns?
11. Gil has an extra 30 acres on which he can build something else that would complement his sportsplex.
