MOD007190 Digital Business and Principles of Marketing

Task: Individual Presentation based on a live current business issue. You may select either Covid, Brexit,CSR or Climate Change.

Students must visit the BBC website. They must select a business story from the BBC after September 2021 which involves a well-known business facing a current problem, difficulty or challenge related to Covid, Brexit or Climate Change. The business must be operating in the UK market. Students must research their selected company linking the current problem to;

PRESTCOM
The Marketing Mix
Strategy
Segmentation, Targeting and Positioning
Sustainability, Ethics and CSR

Students must demonstrate an understanding of theory using the module textbooks and then link theory to their case study and current challenge. How has the current problem changed the business? Has the firm altered the 7Ps or their target customer? Are their new government laws? New products? Have their closest competitors changed? Has their brand equity or reputation been damaged? Have they altered their strategy? New markets? Has there been a challenge linked to sustainability or CSR?

Learning Outcome 1: Knowledge and Understanding: Demonstrate a secure knowledge and understanding of the fundamental principles and concepts of marketing.

Learning Outcome 2: Knowledge and Understanding: Demonstrate a wide range of understanding and appreciation relevant to the influence of marketing on business and management.

Learning Outcome 3: Intellectual, practical, affective and transferable skills: Applymarketing concepts toa current case study and suggest appropriate, reasonable solutions whilst demonstrating flexible and creative approaches to problem solving and the ability todiscuss the issues.

Learning Outcome 4: Intellectual, practical, affective and transferable skills: With guidance, examine, interpret and evaluate the different marketing concepts whilst being able to write clearly and effectively in academic English, communicating clearly and appropriately.
