Review and edit I frequently wake up from sleep compelled to vomit, experiencing such severe episodes that I choke on the vomit during the night. Occasionally, it feels as though something has "gone down the wrong pipe," leading to throat pain from the acidic reflux. At times, these episodes also cause breathing difficulties, making me gasp for air and resulting in intense chest pain that spreads across my upper body. The pain is a severe burning sensation, and despite regularly taking 40mg of Nexium twice a day, they provide no relief. This recurring issue has led to multiple hiatal hernias, necessitating several surgeries to address the problem.
