A thermocouple enclosed in a 3.2mm stainless steel sheath (e = 0.6) is inserted horizontally into a duct to measure the air temperature inside. The walls of the duct are at 650o C, and the true air temperature is 560o C. What temperature will be indicated by the thermocouple? Assume free convection from the thermocouple.
