Formulation of a collective bargaining plan
1.Letting yourself go through the steps to reach the collective agreement or contract that the reading establishes, make a document that establishes the plan that you would carry out to initiate a collective agreement in the company for which you work.
List the negotiation areas to be worked on.
2.Determines the appropriate unit (group of eligible employees) to bargain with.
3.Establish trading rules (refer to step 3 of the plan for details to include).
4. Establishes the method or methods to be used in the event of a deadlock in the negotiations.
After the plan is finalized, analyze it and make a short analysis to assess the impact of the unions. Use the following guiding questions:
Why is it important to have collective agreements?
What has been the impact that unions have had in the formulation of labor policies?
What other aspects should be taken into account before and during the negotiation of the collective agreement?
