Assignment Objective

You are encouraged to see the role of an Information Manager within the broader perspective of strategic information systems, understanding the holistic requirements of information systems to completely serve the needs of any organization.

Assignment Task

With the spread of COVID-19 in the world, Information systems play an important role in managing the data rapidly and efficiently. ABC is a clinic in Oman having already an information system. You have been appointed as consultant for this clinic to update their Electronic Medical Record Management System by adding the management of COVID-19 data, services and decision making.

You have to study the integration of COVID-19 management in the current information system of the company based on the following levels:
• Operational level business process
• Management level
• Strategic level

You are encouraged to read the case study "Are Electronic Medical Records a Cure for Health Care?" which is uploaded on Moodle to get more information about the Electronic Medical Record Management Systems.

Your report must be not be more than 10 to 12 pages and must be professionally compiled.

Task 1:
Submit an assignment work proposal for this assignment by the end of 16/08/2020, 23:59 which must include:
• Understanding of deliverables - a detail description of deliverables;
• General overview of proposed plan - initial understanding of solution to task2;
• Resources identified.
The assignment work proposal must be submitted in a word file through the link available in Moodle.

Task 2:

a) You will start with a preliminary study in order to form the proposal of "Integrating COVID-19 management" project:

Discuss which strategic business objectives will be achieved

Discuss the data and services that will be included and any two other complementary assets of the IS.

What are the benefits/revenues of this project?

b) Discuss the social and ethical issues that can be related to this project

c) Choose one of the following IS types and study in this type one business process to be updated: Transaction processing systems, Decision support systems, Management information systems, Executive support systems or Knowledge management systems (KMS). Explain all its components.

d) Study the Technology infrastructure that will be required.
