A sports camp runs for 8 weeks during July and August. Campers come for a 1-week period and use a set of sheets in their dorm. At the end of a week, a new group of kids comes in. Develop a plan for purchasing and cleaning sheets each week of camp at the lowest possible cost.

Clean sheets are needed at the beginning of each week. The camp must either purchase new sheets or clean old sheets. A set of new sheets costs $10. A local laundry will clean a set of sheets for $4. Counselors will clean the sheets for $2 a set. The laundry will provide cleaned sheets in a week, counselors can deliver cleaned sheets in 2 weeks.

The table below lists the number of campers for each of the 8 weeks the camp will operate. Each week 20% of the cleaned sheets will have to be discarded and replaced.

At the beginning of the summer, the camp has no sheets available, sheets must be purchased. Sheets are thrown away at the end of the summer.
