We have now examined five case studies and you have addressed facts and issues, including evidence found and its meaning. For your Unit 5 paper, address the following issues:

1. List the physical evidence found in each of the five cases you have studied (Ramsey, King, Shipman, Williams, McVeigh). In general, how should that evidence be collected? In the cases you studied, was the evidence collected properly? Explain why or why not.

2. What forensic examination(s) should be performed on that evidence? What machines or forensic tools (microscopes, gas chromatography, mass spectrometry, chemical analysis, or other techniques) would be used to examine the evidence?

3. Do these examinations result in evidence with individual or class characteristics? In these five case studies, did the evidence indicate a particular person or suspect? Were there any problems with the examinations as conducted in these cases? What were they?
