Question: Blue skin color in smurfs is controlled by two independent biochemical pathways (1 and 2). Pathway 1 has two enzymatic steps under the control of genes A and B respectively. The homozygous recessive state aa or bb blocks the formation of blue pigmentation by this pathway. Pathway 2 has one enzymatic step under the control of gene C, and the homozygous condition cc blocks this pathway. A blue smurf homozygous for all three genes mates with a white smurf (homozygous recessive at all three genes) to produce F1s. The F1s are then mated to produce an F2. Predict the phenotypes and phenotypic ratios of the F2 smurfs.
