(b) Every day there is a 10% chance that Danny will receive no mail. Let X be the number of times he receives mail over the next week.

(c) Joe is playing craps at the casino. Recall that the probability of winning craps is about 0.49. He will keep playing until he wins. Let X be the number of times he will play.

(d) Lisa is examining the flowers in her rose garden. Petal lengths tend to be about 12 mm long with standard deviation 2 mm. Let X be the length of a rose petal.

(e) Laura is biking from her house to another city, 30 miles away. She is equally likely to be anywhere between the two. Let X be her position.

(f) Hurricanes hit this state at the average rate of five per year. Let X be the number of hurricanes next year.
