Moderation is the key with foods/beverages containing added sugar, such as HFCS. People will go to any length to try to find a reason as to why they are overweight/obese rather than putting in the effort to exercise and eat healthier. One example of this is how people will blame HFCS solely for the increase in the incidence of overweight/obesity in this country. Given that HFCS is absorbed and metabolized by the body in exactly the same way as sucrose is in the body, how can one argue that HFCS is solely to blame for this epidemic (U.S. Food and Drug Administration, 2014)?
