Situation:

Your food service operation has been contacted to support a charity group that works with foster children in your neighborhood. They are asking you to host a free holiday dinner for the children and their parents around Christmas time. Your operation would be responsible for providing the food and the labor for the event and the charity group would provide the location. You want to help this community group but the cost of the event was not included in your budget and your budget is very tight. The estimated cost for food will be $1250 and labor will be on a volunteer basis.

A supplier is in your office and overhears you discuss the event with your staff. They offer to donate the full menu worth of products to support the dinner.

Using the seven guidelines of ethical behavior from your text as a guide, decide if it is ethical to accept this food donation from this one vendor. Defend your decision using the seven guidelines.
