Your instructor will consider your Research and Practice Portfolio in two ways. One level of review will focus on the breadth and richness of the portfolio, the way in which artifacts relate to the cubby/domain topic in which they reside, and the labeling and retrieval structures you created for your portfolio. The second level of review will focus on the extent to which the artifacts demonstrate achievement of the five M.Ed. program goals and an understanding of the disciplines(s) that one teaches. Your instructor will be looking for the extent to which the artifacts show the importance of certain factors, including: understanding the discipline(s) one teaches ensuring the availability of appropriate curricula for learners creating an effective learning environment employing instructional approaches that support learning assessing and providing feedback on learner growth and development engaging in continuing professional development.
