Assignment will focus on a specific example of globalization. "What's globalization??!!" you ask. In short, globalization is the "gradual reduction of regional contrasts at the world scale,resulting from increasing international cultural, economic, and political exchanges."Globalization has become one of the most discussed areas of geography, and it is a daily news story around the world. Should start with one example you can relate to, especially if it is a business or industry (manufacturing, farming, mining, etc.) that you work in, and examine the effects of globalization. Your thesis will be your example and whether or not globalization is good basedon your example. You must then support your example with cited sources (e.g. newspaper or magazine articles that have covered your company's changes due to globalization).

Examples: If you work for UPS, Ford, G.E., Yum!,(and many others -- even Wal-Mart),globalization has affected operations. If you work in the food industry, look into whereproducts are coming from; if you are involved in farming, look into global competition. If youwere ever laid off because the company moved to Mexico, China, or another overseas location,guess what? Finally, if you are/were in the military, you can explore globalization and U.S.military efforts overseas.
