Question

Fluoxetine can cause side effects such as: Nausea: This is one of the most common side effects of fluoxetine. It usually diminishes as the body adjusts to the medication (Schoretsanitis et al., 2019). Headache is another frequent side effect that can be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers if it becomes bothersome (Qiu et al., 2019). Sleep disturbances (insomnia): Some patients may experience difficulty sleeping. This side effect may improve, but adjusting the dosing time can help (Katzman et al., 2019). Fatigue: Feeling unusually tired is a possible side effect, particularly in the initial weeks of treatment (Fava et al., 2019). Dry mouth: This can usually be managed with increased water intake or sugar-free gum (Habtemariam et al., 2019). Increased sweating: This is less common but can occur and may be uncomfortable for the patient (Taylor et al., 2020).
