Sri has written his first novel and has produced copies of his book that he plans to sell to independent bookstores for $ 16.50 a copy. Each copy of the book costs $ 8.75 to print at a local printing company. Sri estimates that his fixed costs for sales and promotion expenses will be $300 per month.

a. What will Sri's total costs be if he sells 1500 copies of his book next month?

b. What will Sri's total costs be if he sells 3000 copies of his book next month?

c. Explain why the total in Part (b) above is not twice as much as the total in Part (a).
