Max is lives and breathes music. He dreams of giving up his business career to create and produce music full time. He's already an accomplished pianist, but he'll need to take some professional singing lessons to hone his skills. Max and his three friends have been playing together as a band for many years and would like to be able to tour full time instead of playing the occasional gig on weekends.
Nova, Max's wife, feels this is ridiculous and selfish. While she's supportive of her husband pursuing his dreams, she feels that he should put the needs of his family first. This means bringing in sufficient income to pay for their home mortgage, car loans, credit card payments, food and house bills, and their children's activities.
Max tells Nova that "it's now or never" as he is only getting older. In his opinion, they have enough savings for the family to get by until he lands a record contract and is able to provide for his family through his music career. Nova does not share Max's opinion. In fact, she's ready to leave him if he quits his job to pursue music.
