The Five Functions of Effective Management : Their Applications in Business

In 2012, Carl's Jr. reported a total revenue of $1.3 billion in sales (CKE, 2012). The QSR magazine (2010) ranks Carl's Jr. at number 23 in 2010, with its predominant sales being of burgers. Carl's Jr's charbroiled hamburgers are a family favorite in the United States, and their pricing is very reasonable when taken in conjunction with the size of their products. Without the careful use of the five functions of effective management (planning, organizing, staffing, leading, and controlling), Carl's Jr. would not keep up with changing consumer trends at their individual stores.
