1. Identify one sponsor for each of the five different types of Olympic sponsorships. Your response for each of the five types of sponsorship should be 1-2 pages in length (as well as 2-3 sources ). Utilize Developing Successful Sport Sponsorship Plans for sponsor access information.
Required information: sponsor access for the appropriate type of sponsorship, sponsorship specifics (length of agreement, etc.) related to your sponsor selection, potential connection between sponsor and governing body (example: skiing - peak precision & Audi luxury vehicles)and objective (brand awareness, reach appropriate audience, showcase product, increase employee morale, etc.)
2. Identify a top earning endorsed athlete (one female and one male). The following points should be answered in 3-5 pages (include sources).
a. Breakdown their earnings into specific endorsements and salary/winning components. How many sponsors (or how many brands) does each athlete endorse? Classify the endorsement as explicit, implicit, imperative, or co-present focused.
b. Who is each athlete's marketing agent?
c. Attempt to justify or refute the value of the sponsorship by reviewing a major brand's sales/image pre and post sponsorship. What indicators could be useful in measuring value? Basically, is this athlete worth it? (your answer must be objective, based on facts, figures, information, sources)
d. Evaluate this athlete against the factors presented in Developing Successful Sport Sponsorship Plans for selecting athletes for endorsements.
