Apheresis Platelet Donation A 40-year-old female arrives for her first-time apheresis platelet donation. Her past medical history was remarkable for hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and depression. Reported medications included bumetanide, pravastatin, and paroxetine. Thirty minutes from the start of the procedure, the donor notes tingling around the mouth, hands, and feet. She then very rapidly develops acute onset of severe facial and extremity tetany.

Question

What medication could be provided to the donor to help alleviate the symptoms described in this case?
