Learning Outcome 1: Describe and evaluate the purpose of applied research for strategic decision-making, in the context of own choice of business and management research topic.

Learning Outcome 2: Critically evaluate research project design and implementation, including organisation/sector context, research question formulation, ethical and methodological considerations.

Learning Outcome 3: Select, evaluate and synthesise sources of information associated with a business or management topic.

Learning Outcome 4: Appraise and apply a recognised method of analysis to secondary information.

Learning Outcome 5: Propose recommendations that demonstrate an entrepreneurial mind-set, and that consider stakeholder impact, sustainability, and value.

Learning Outcome 6: Critically reflect upon preferences and experiences in the context of personal, professional and career development.

Learning Outcome 7: Demonstrate self-direction and originality in tackling and solving problems, and act autonomously in planning and implementing tasks.

REQUIREMENTS

Submit a video presentation of the project proposal.

Attend the workshops and review the required format/content for your video proposal guidelines (Appendix 1). Also, review the video proposal marking rubric for further guidance on structuring your presentation.

Students MUST submit an article (4,000 words) and portfolio (4,500 words)excluding appendices, footnotes, table of contents, and cover page. See the required format/content for Article and portfolio and the marking rubric for the Article and portfolio for more details. Students MUST engage with their groups and supervisors as soon as they are assigned.

REQUIRED article and portfolio CONTENT

The Article and portfolio must be submitted in an approved topic related to Accounting and Finance. The cover page, abstract, table of contents page, references list, and appendices would not count in the word count.

The Article MUST include the following in the same order
Abstract
Introduction
Literature review
Summary of methods
Data analysis, discussion, and research findings (details should be included in the portfolio)
Conclusion and recommendation
References or bibliography
Appendices (This should be placed at the end of your portfolio. e.g. data set, SPSS or NVIVO output)
