Evaluating Coding Gain, CNR, and BER of a DSSS-CDMA Transmitter
a. A DSSS-CDMA transmitter sends message signals at a rate of 5.0 kbps using a long chip sequence with a rate of 1 M chips per second. In the receiver, what is the processing gain (also called coding gain) in dB?

b. The receiver in part (a) above pick up a weak signal with CNR = -10 dB. Assuming no losses in the receiver correlation process, what is the CNR of the recovered baseband signal?

c. If the modulation of the signal in part (b) above in is BPSK, would the BER in the recovered message signal be below 10-6?

d. The receiver in part (b) above must use an IF correlator rather than a baseband correlator. Why?
