Question

Based on my research, a lot of organizations can find their employees struggling to stay motivated. Harvard states "these reasons fall into four categories; they are (1) values mismatch, (2) lack of self-efficacy, (3) disruptive emotions, and (4) attribution errors." (Clark & Saxberg). If employees don't believe in what they're doing, why are they going to do it? If I only wear flip-flops but I work for a tennis shoe company, will my motivation to perform stay the same? Most likely not. If I think that I'm not capable of performing an activity then my motivation for it drastically decreases. If know that I can't run a marathon, then why would I try? This can apply to our mental health. If we're struggling mentally, then how can we be expected to put our best effort into something? I know that I'm not where near my greatest potential when I'm going through an episode of depression. Lastly, when an employee can't accurately pinpoint where something when wrong, frustration can occur and motivation can easily be lost. With how ever-changing our world has become in the last five to ten years, more and more organizations are taking steps to help prevent a.
