A 140 Kg steel rod in a building under construction a load of 6520kg. During the day the rod's temp increases from 25 deg C to 46 degC, causing the rod to thermally expand and raise the load 5.0 mmThe acceleration of gravity is 9.81 m/s ^2. The specific of iron is448 J/kg deg C.

A) find the energy transferred as heat to or from the rod. (Assumespecific heat capacity of steel is the same as for iron. )

B) Find the work done by or on the rod in this process.

C) How great is the change in the rod's internal energy?
