A 200 kg cart moving 5 m/s to the right collides with a 150 kg cart moving to the left at 2 m/s. After the collision, the carts stick together.

a) Find the velocity with which the carts move off after the collision (speed and direction).

b) Show, using a calculation, whether or not the collision is elastic (you may NOT assume the answer. You must show it with a calculation).

c) Discuss whether or not your answers to parts a and b are reasonable. Give specific reasons why or why not you think they are reasonable.
