A 1296.0 gram mass is on a horizontal surface with mk = 0.42, and is in contact with a mass less spring with a force constant of 526.0 N/m which is compressed. When the spring is released, it does 1.29 Joule of work on the mass while returning to its equilibrium position. Obtain the distance the spring was compressed.
