The following information may be useful in solving this problem e = 1.6 X 10^-29 C. The mass of a chloride ion is approximately 5.9 X 10^-26 kg.

A thin circular sheet of glass of diameter 3 meters is rubbed with a cloth on one surface and becomes charged uniformly. A chloride ion (a chlorine atom that has gained on electron) passes near the glass sheet. When the chloride ion is near the center of the sheet, at a location 0.8 mm from the sheet, it experiences an acceleration of 8.47 x 10^10 m/s^2 toward the sheet.

Determine the total excess charge on the surface of the glass disk (including sign).
