Question 1: A disk of radius 6 m lies in the xy plane, with the z axis through its center. Surface charge of uniform density ps = 10 µC/m2 lies on the disk, which rotates about the z-axis at angular velocity of ω = 600 rads/s. If the disk rotates counterclockwise in a uniform magnetic field with B = 0.1ayT, find the torque on the disk.

Question 2: In free space, a square filamentary current loop carrying current I2 = 2.2 A is located near an infinite long, straight current filament carrying current I1 = 3.7 A. The loop has sides of 2a where a = 1.2 m and, as shown in the figure, can rotate around its central axis O1O2 which is parallel to the infinite long filament with a distance of b = 1.3 m. When the square loop rotates to an angle θ = 35°, find the magnitude of the net torque on the loop around O1O2 as a result of the field created by 4.

Hint: to help visualize the system, try drawing it from an overhead view (looking down from high on the z-axis) so that you can clearly see the angle θ When θ = 0, the loop will be in a plane of constant Φ.
