Q. carnival ride has a large horizontal steel disc of radius 5m from which cars are suspended by a 6m long chain. the disx is rotated about its axis so that the cars swing out and revolve in a circular path. at its operation speed the angle of the chains to the vertical is 20 degrees. find the speed of the cars.

Q. A mountain climber, in the process of crossing between two cliffs by a rope, pauses to rest. She weighs 549 N. As the drawing shows, she is closer to the left cliff than to the right cliff, with the result that the tensions in the left and right sides of the rope are not the same.
