A block of mass m1 = 10 kilogram is located on the 30 degree inclined plane and connected to a second hanging block of mass m2 = 8 kilogram by a string passing over a small, frictionless pulley. The coefficient of kinetic friction between the 10 kilogram block and the inclined plane is mk = 0.2?

(a) Find the tension in the string that connects the blocks when they are released from rest and nudged slightly to set the blocks in motion?

(b) Obtain the speed of the blocks when the 8 kilogram block has fallen a distance of 40 centimeter from rest. Suppose that the 10 kilogram block does not hit the pulley during the motion.
