Question: Solve the given problems by use of an appropriate sequence or expansion. All numbers are accurate to at least two significant digits.

Each side of an equilateral triangle is 2 cm in length. The midpoints are joined to form a second equilateral triangle. The midpoints of the second triangle are joined to form a third equilateral triangle. Find the sum of all of the perimeters of the triangles if this process is continued indefinitely. See Fig.
