A generator rated at 13.8 kV and 50,000 kVA is connected to a 75,000 kVA 13.8D/69Y kV transformer. The generator has a subtransient reactance of 25% and the transformer has a reactance of 10%. Before the fault occurs the voltage on the high side of the transformer is 64 kV. The transformer is unloaded. Find the subtransient current in the generator when a three-phase short occurs on the 69 kV side of the transformer.
