One of the new events in the 2002 Winter Olympics was thesport of skeleton. Starting at the top of a steep, icy track,a rider jumps onto a sled and proceeds---belly down and headfirst--to slide down the track. The track had fifteen turnsand drops 104m in elevation from the tiop oto bottom

a) In the absence of nonconservativve forces, such a frictionand air resistance, what would be the speed of a rider at the bottom of the track? Assume that the speed of the rider at thebeginning of the run is relatively small and can be ignored.

b) In reality, the best riders reach the bottom with a speedof 35.8m/s. How much work is done on 86.0kg rider andskeleton by nonconservative forces?
