Some jobs submitted for processing on a particular CPU have fatal programming errors, while others do not. Suppose that jobs are submitted independently and the probability that a job contains fatal errors is p = 0:1.
a) Find the probability that among the next 10 jobs submitted there are less than 3 jobs with fatal errors. I know that this is Geometric but not sure how to apply the formula. I keep getting a number greater than 1.
b) Find the probability that the first job with fatal errors occurs after 30 or more jobs are submitted. Not sure what to use with this one.
c) Find the probability that the third job with fatal errors occurs after 30 or more jobs are submitted. (No need to simplify.)
