Students were surveyed as to how many minutes they had talked on the phone the day before. They were also asked whether or not they carried a cell phone.

a. If one group talked on the phone more, would you expect it to be those who did or did not carry a cell phone?

b. Use software to access the student survey data, and report the mean minutes on the phone for those who did and did not carry a cell phone. Which sample mean is higher?

c. Use software to find the P-value for the two-sided test.

d. What would be the P-value for the onesided test?

e. Can we conclude that overall students who carry cell phones tend to spend more time on the phone? f. Can we conclude that carrying a cell phone causes someone to talk on the phone more? Explain.
