Question: Suppose males and females are equally likely and that the number of each gender follows a binomial distribution. (Note that the database contains observations of random variables, not the random variables themselves.)

a. Find n and π for the binomial distribution of the number of males.

b. Find n and π for the binomial distribution of the number of females.

c. Find the observed value of X for the number of females.

d. Use the normal approximation to the binomial distribution to find the probability of observing this many females (your answer to part c) or fewer in the database.
