A block of mass mb is attached to one end of a spring and is sliding on a horizontal frictionless surface. the other end of the spring is fixed. the block executes SHM with a period of T and an Amplitude of A. as the block slides through its equilibrium position, a wad of putty of mass mp is dropped and stick to the block. find the new period and new amplitude of the motion.
