A heat engine takes 0.200 moles of an ideal gas around the cycle shown Step 1 to 2 is a constant volume process. Step 2 to 3 is adiabatic. Step 3 to 1 is at a constant pressure of 1.0 atm. The value of y here is 1.40, and T1 = 300 K, T2 = 600 K, and T3 = 455 K.

A) Find P and V at points 1, 2, and 3

B) Calculate the heat flow, work done and change in internal energy for each step in the cycle.

C) Find the net work done by the gas in one cycle.

D) Find the net heat flow into the system in one cycle.

E) Find the change in entropy for each step and the net for one cycle.

F) What is the thermal efficency of the engine. How does this compare with that of a carnot engine operating between the same minimum and maximum tempratures? Does this agree with the 2nd law?
