Actual quantity of materials used 36,000 units

Budgeted quantity of materials used 34,000 units

Actual price paid for materials $9 per unit

Budgeted price paid for materials $11 per unit

There were no increases or decreases in inventories during the period. Calculate the materials quantity variance for the period.
