Two masses, m1 = 20 kg and m2 = 24 kg, are connected by a rope that hangs over a pulley. The pulley is a uniform solid cylinder (I=1/2MR2) of radius R= .3 meter and mass M = 8.0 kilogram. The torque of friction at the axel is τfr = 3.5 Nm. Suppose the rope does not slip.

a.) When the System is released, find the magnitude of the accelerations of the masses m1 and m2.

b.) Find the magnitudes of the velocities of the masses after each of the masses travels a distance d = 1.5 meter?

c.) By that point, determine how much energy is dissipated into heat(due to friction)?
