A stainless-steel orthodontic wire is applied to a tooth that is out of line by 40 degrees . The wire has an unstretched length of 4.4 cm and a diameter of 0.2 mm. If the wire is stretched 0.1 mm , find the magnitude of the force on the tooth. (Disregard the width of the tooth). Young's modu- lus for stainless steel is 1.8 × 1011 Pa .
