An electromagnetic wave is travelling in vacuum along the horizontal or x-axis. It consists of an electric field of peak strength 2.1 x 10-5 Vm-1 in the vertical direction or z axis and a magnetic field.

a) Find what is the speed v?

b) Obtain the peak strength of the magnetic field component?

c) If the E were momentarily vertical (+z) and the velocity is in the +x direction, find what direction is B at that instant?

d) Find what are the direction of E, B and v one half periods later?

e) Find the magnitude of the associated pointing vector?
