One end of a long rod (n=1.5) is formed into a convex surface with a radius of curvature of 6cm. An object is located in air along the axis of the rod.

a) Find the image and object focal lengths, f' and f, and mark the locations of the foci in your to-scale sketch.

b) Find the image positions corresponding to object distances of (i) 24cm, (ii) 12cm, and (iii) 3cm from the convex rod. For case (i), mark the position of the object and image on your sketch along with the object and image distances. What type of image is the image for case (iii) and where does it form?
