Consider an air-standard Otto cycle, and a modified cycle in which the isentropic compression and expansion processes are each replaced by polytropic processes with n=1.3. The compression ratio for both cycles is 10. P1 = 1 bar and T1 = 310 K, and the max temperature of the cycles is 2200 K. Find the heat transfer and work per unit mass of air in KJ/kg for each process of the two cycles, and compare the thermal efficiency of each. Assume constant specific heats at room temperature, and k=1.4.
